Today, we will introduce you with the south-western part of our country, the beautiful and sunny region of Herzegovina. The so-called ‘Bosnian California’ (Herzegovina) has more than 270 sunny days during the whole year, making it a perfect place for tourism and visit purposes. With an impressive natural phenomenon of rivers, lakes and mountains, but also cultural and historical (medieval) attractions, this region is an Adriatic open-air museum for nature and history lovers and a must-visit part while exploring the country.

HISTORICAL CITIES AND NATURE IN HERZEGOVINA TO EXPLORE
The first thing that comes to your mind when mentioning Herzegovina is the city of Mostar. A symbol of Herzegovina is also the largest city in the region, with great historical and UNESCO protected Old Bridge attraction of Mostar, from which the city got its name. On Bosnian language, word ‘Most’ means ‘Bridge’. While visiting it, make sure to go below the Old Bridge, on the left side of amazing green river of Neretva, to take pictures, perform a 15 minute boat ride, watch the professional diving performance of Mostar people from the bridge, perform the zip-line attraction behind the bridge, have a Bosnian coffee with a view of the bridge and river, or just sit down and enjoy the scenery. For gastro lovers, we recommend trying the ‘Del Rio’ restaurant, located only 10 minute walk from the Old Bridge, with rich selection of Mediterranean sea food, delicious Bosnian barbeque dishes or various vegetarian deals for vegetarian travelers.
Traveling from the capital of Sarajevo to Mostar, on the mid-way, you will find the city of Konjic. We advise you to do a very short stop behind the Old Stone bridge of Konjic and enjoy the view for couple of minutes. The bridge in Konjic is actually the monument which connects Bosnia with Herzegovina. For a longer stay in Konjic, we recommend to do a 5 hour rafting experience with a skipper, on the gorgeous Neretva river through Herzegovinian canyons.
After exploring vibrant city of Mostar, we recommend you to take a 10 minute ride to the tiny city of Blagaj. A very unique tourist attraction spot, provided with beautiful blue river of Buna, the amazing cave on the bottom of a hill, from which the spring of Buna starts, with calm restaurants on the river and Ottoman Dervish house to be explored. For nature lovers, we also recommend the Blagaj climbing exhibitions or camping and fishing on Buna river.
Driving mostly 10 minutes from the old town of Blagaj, you will reach a natural phenomenon on ‘Bunski Kanal’ spot. There you will be amazed how blue river of Buna and green river of Neretva connect, producing small colored waterfalls and amazing scenery.
By making a short stop at Bunski Kanal, make sure to continue driving south and reaching in 15 minutes the Old Medieval town of Počitelj. A rich medieval historical site offers you a panoramic view from the upper fortress, a Lunar Clock Tower, 15th century Ottoman Mosque and great domestic people, that will do anything to help you exploring their unique city.
Only 20 minutes driving south from Počitelj, you can find the best ‘oasis in stone’ natural attraction of Herzegovina, the Kravice Waterfalls. The parking spots are free to use and entrance is only 20BAM/10euros per person. Important, do not forget to bring your swimsuits, if travelling during summertime. An amazing oasis and ideal place for nature lovers, with breathtaking long waterfalls from Trebižat river, that will make your journey very pleased and satisfied.
